Your driver will pick you up after breakfast at your hotel around 08:00. You will drive from your hotel to the nearest national park, Arusha National Park. A visit to this park will introduce you to what you can expect to see in the other parks you will visit. Despite its small size, the park is home to common animals, including giraffe, Cape buffalo, zebra, warthog, the black-and-white colobus monkey, the blue monkey, flamingo, elephant, bushbuck and many other African animals. Get a chance to be up close with nature’s beauty, with the lovely sounds of birds, the sight of animals such as zebras and giraffes, and the beautiful landscape of the park. Don’t worry, you will be escorted by a trained ranger on this execution, so all is well with your exploration. After the thrills of the day, you will be taken back to your hotel for the night.
On your drive from Arusha, sit back and enjoy the scenic views of the changing vegetation. The drive will take approximately 2 hours. You will see farms on the way. Tarangire National Park is known for its 300-strong elephant herds, migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland, grazing and browsing in the dry riverbed. The Silale swamp attracts 550 bird species, the most breeding species you'll see in a single habitat anywhere in the world! The park is also home to lions, leopards and tree-climbing pythons. The park has a varied, beautifully rough and hilly terrain around a winding river where many animals come to drink. Tarangire is famous for its huge, mighty baobab trees, which bear nutritious fruits high in vitamin C and calcium and are very popular with animals. There are also yellow acacias, small swamps, palm trees and thorny acacias.
This day starts with an early breakfast at your hotel, followed by a drive through Ngorongoro to Serengeti National Park. Take a breath and enjoy the beautiful scenery rolling into the distance as far as your eyes can see. You will head to the central part of the park, known as the Seronera circuit, which is very rich in wildlife. The place is featured by the Seronera River, which provides water for the animals. You will spot thousands upon thousands of animals in herds - wildebeests and zebras migrating, tall and graceful giraffes, antelopes and gazelles, the powerful African elephant and the most respected group of animals, the predators. You might have the chance to spot lean cheetahs and shy leopards, foraging hyenas, and last but not least, the king himself, the lion.
Go on an early morning game drive in the Serengeti plains, trying to capture what was missed on yesterday’s drive. Enjoy an unforgettable sunrise game drive across the Serengeti and appreciate the view as the sun sets fire to the savannah while predators such as leopards and lions hunt for their morning meal. Alternatively, you might want to explore the untouched parts of the Serengeti as you casually drift away from the surface of the earth in the early hours of the morning, safe in the basket of a hot-air balloon. This is an additional activity; if you like to add it, then confirm with our safari expert. After breakfast, you will proceed to explore the vast savannah of Serengeti in your open-roof vehicle with your packed lunch. Take your hat and sunglasses and enjoy what nature has in store for you.
Go on an early morning game drive on the Serengeti plains, trying to capture what was missed on yesterday’s drive. Enjoy an unforgettable sunrise game drive across the Serengeti and get a chance to appreciate the view as the sun sets fire to the savannah while predators such as leopards and lions hunt for their morning meal. Later in the afternoon, head towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a game drive en route. Your driver will drive on a different route from the one you took on day two. This drive allows you to glimpse what the two World Heritage Sites have to offer, from the golden savannah grasslands of Serengeti to the montane forest of Ngorongoro. Then, you will drive to Karatu for an overnight stay.
Taking a picnic lunch with you, your drive today will lead you down the crater floor for a full exploration of what the crater has to offer, tracking game with your guide. The crater is 610 m deep and 260 km² wide, making it the largest caldera in the world. The crater contains all the Big Five animals (lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards and buffaloes), hippos, cheetahs, antelopes and spotted hyenas. You will also see many bird species, as well as other wildlife such as vervet monkeys, jackals, foxes, rock and tree hyraxes, warthogs, gnus, zebras and hares in the crater. After the excitement of the day, you will drive back to your lodge.
Lake Manyara National Park, though another small park, is perfect for bird watching. The park is dominated by a shallow alkaline lake at the base of the Rift Valley escarpment. It is famous for its tree-climbing lions and large herds of elephants. The park entrance leads to a jungle-like groundwater forest, which is home to large numbers of olive baboons and blue monkeys. A thrilling 370 m (1,200 ft-long) treetop walkway offers a bird’s-eye view into this unique habitat. Wildlife in Lake Manyara includes elephants, wildebeest, giraffes and buffaloes. In addition, the park is also very famous for its large number of zebras, impalas, warthogs and waterbucks. After the adventure of the day, you will head to Arusha town.
