Mount Kilimanjaro, located in Tanzania, is Africa's tallest mountain at 5,895 meters (19,341 feet) above sea level. It is the world's highest free-standing mountain and consists of three volcanic cones: Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira. Kibo, the highest cone, is dormant, while the other two are extinct. Known for its diverse ecosystems, Kilimanjaro features lush rainforests, alpine deserts, and glaciers, though the glaciers are rapidly shrinking due to climate change. It is a popular trekking destination, attracting adventurers from around the globe.
